Episode 69: In The Midst Of Our Business

In an unprecedented event, Adam skips out on another recording of America’s 1,256th favorite podcast about geeks and pop culture. Why would he do that? Our guess is to work on his current passion project: hydroponic eggplant farming. Don’t ask. He won’t tell.

After listening, we’re sure Adam will be kicking himself. He missed out on the most unsexy sexy episode of the Scope ever. Yes, the show was dedicated to the number “69” and all of the naughtiness that goes with it.

While The Scope didn’t get all that nasty, Jared and Shane did tell some moderately embarrassing stories about past sexual transgressions. Newsflash: the guys were not the ultimate lady-killers you imagined them to be. (Insert uncomfortable serial-killer comedy here.)

We also let some of our listeners listener get in on the act by reading her embarrassing story live! And Metrobuzzer John Norton comes through big time with one of the most impactful sick twisted truthful voicemails ever. Don’t taze me, Dude!

Episode 68: Adam’s New Job As White House Press Secretary

After receiving an unprecedented volume of listener email (one letter) demanding his return to the show, fan lightning rod Earl sneaks into the studios to help us flesh out the event that was MarsCon 2009. Yes, we’re talking about yet another sci-fi convention. But at least this time The Scope’s fanbase turned out in mass to support our appearance….right? (sob.)

We also review the latest album from U2 and the latest comic book movie, Watchmen.  If you would have been lucky enough to watch #68 recording live, you could have seen Adam shave all of his body hair and paint himself (yes, including his rig) blue. Just like Dr. Manhattan. Very, very sexy.

Buckle up, Scope faithful. This extremely long episode — from hosts that have been called “kinda arrogant jerks” by the reviewing masses — packs a lot of pop culture info.

And a lot of one single Christian Bale sound clip. Good for you, indeed.

An undeserved week off

Due to MarsCON 2009, your Scope crew will be taking seven additional days off. We’d like to say that extra week will bring you all sorts of added, super-awesome content…but we’d be lying. The Scope is marginal at best. And any more time won’t change that sad fact.

That being said, we’ll be back with the first-ever “Fan Show!” That means your input will decide the direction of the show. So send any questions, comments, or topic suggestions to us and we’ll do our best to address them on this or another show. It should be spectacular! We’ll also swing the review sledgehammer at the new U2 album and the TV show, Big Bang Theory.

Thanks for hanging with us! A new show will be posted by March 16th, 2009.
