September 28, 2012 | Posted by: The Scope
What’s more fun than a summer movie preview? How about a fall movie preview? It’s a little something we’re dubbing “The Scope Autumn Film Blast.”
Yes indeed, Jared and Shane find their way into a theater (seasons be damned) to check out a screening of Stephen Chbosky’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower. For those of you who don’t know, Chobs (as we like to call him) wrote the Wallflower book in 1999 and now he’s back, like a Terminator, as both screenwriter and director of the adaptation.
Boy oh boy, did he nail it. No sarcasm, cynicism, or pseudo-hipster angst here. (Thank god Adam didn’t see this film.) This might be one of the best teen-coming-of-age films since a little-known underground filmmaker named John Hughes was making movies about Saturday morning detention sessions.
Take a listen to the review, bask in the first ever perfect Scope Score, and then see this movie. Seriously. See. This. Movie.
The Scope The Perks of Being a Wallflower review feels only two or three less than infinite.

Episode 130: The 2012 Fall TV Preview – Homelind Edition
September 10, 2012 | Posted by: The Scope
Autumn is right around the corner…and that means your Scope hosts are going to be super busy trying to watch all the new TV programming headed their way. But, before that happens, Jared, Adam, Shane, and our favorite female guest, Molly, will give every Scope listener a fall television preview like none ever produced! This means as much CBS procedural talk as you can handle. Because, really, who doesn’t want to cool down with The Mentalist?
Your Scope hosts will also tackle the latest musical release from indie supergroup, Divine Fits, aka Spoof Parade. It’s pretty much a guarantee the divergence opinions on this album will cause the Scope score to fall somewhere…wait for it…in the middle. But the fun is in the journey, not the destination, right?
So stick with this one, folks. It’s a longy but a goody. And it’s got a GIRL! A girl, we tells ya!
The Scope episode 130 is double bitching it all the way to the bitch bank, bitches.
