Episode 20: The Only 2006 Year in Review you need to listen to

Our longest episode ever! Seriously. Like 2 hours. Plus another 2 minutes and 8 seconds. It’s crazy. But also the best one yet. Al stops in to talk music.

Lesson 1 for 2007: Shane is better at poker than both Adam and Jared. And he’s a novice. Suck it.

I say it can’t be the best episode evah without a game of Hit the Post or Pop Culture. Otherwise, highly amusing.

    Happy New Year, guys!

Hmm, think you missed it on the Best Sony F*ckup. How about those millions of laptop battery/incendiary devices they had to recall this year? That is $200M or more in straight up losses.

Great show again- although I agree with a jaclyn that another install of Hit the Post is needed. I think Earl was born for that bit.

It’s “Transformers”, not “Transforms”. I’m in Earl’s court, the big bitch is the movie is sponsored by GM, therefore, characters that represented a variety of all/other car-manufacturers, isn’t represented. Other than that there’s always something that rubs me the wrong way… keep it up!

Unfortunately The O.C. didn’t quite wake up from the coma. It just got cancelled. This makes Gary sad.
And come on, RHCP not overrated. It was a very good comeback. Thanks for trying to stick up for them Shane. I would agree with you guys on bands like Keane, etc. But Snow Patrol is sort of pussy music as well. And Gnarls Barkely is all about the costumes in concert. Definitely overhyped.
Best album? What? no Regina Spektor or Concretes or Of Montreal? Mates of State, Lily Allen, etc? I apreciated Al’s runner up’s, but come on. Snow Patrol? Seriously. Snow Patrol? think you guys need to get another music critic in there. Not that I have anything against Al and Adam(except the whole hating on RHCP thing).
My pick for most anticipated album for 2007: Northern State’s new one. It’s in the pipeline.
And I want to be there when Earl sees Transformers.
    I will shut up now.

Pretty good wrap on the year. I have to side with G love about RHCP and the album of the year pick.
Your overhyped right on and the I wish they woulg go away excellent.

    Great Show! Keep them coming….

I will respectfully disagree with G Love and Kerri. I will first remind everyone that the category RHCP’s won was “most overrated” and not “worst album of the year”. I would venture to guess that G Love’s appreciation for the Chili Peppers parallels my appreciation for Pearl Jam. Pearl Jam, like the RHCP, had a great comeback album (not to the Chili Peppers’ in mass popularity/radio play) this year. However, if any major publication told me that that was even a top 10 album for 2006, I would cry “erroneous!” I don’t see how any band’s 3rd or 4th best album can be deemed the 2nd best album of everyone else’s in the whole world during one year (unless it is the late 90’s boy band/nu metal era).

As for Snow Patrol, all four of us liked the album so we picked it. Did I have albums I liked better? Yeah. But, I’ll stand by mi amigos with our pick. It may me pussy music, but it was the best pussy music of 2006.

At least you admit it’s Pussy Music. 🙂
