Episode 233: The Scope Instant Show

In an effort to freshen up the format, Jared, Adam, and Shane try something never attempted in Scope history: The Scope Instant Show!

That’s right, the guys put together a new bit on the fly…and the results are astounding! If that wasn’t intriguing enough, would it be more exciting if you knew the entire affair revolved around the music of 1987?

Of course it would. Now sit back and buckle up! You don’t want to miss this Scope gem.

The Scope episode 233 still wonders about The Bono Exception.

Episode 232: Adam’s Newsiest Takeover Ever

The Scope crew is back and on track for the latest episode. For show 232, Adam goes full video game on the news, talks about Cracker Jack, and keeps the snark to a modest minimum.

You’ll also hear mentions of grassy knolls, transwarp drives, and the mutual ignorance society. So, yeah, it’s a pretty good show.

The Scope episode 232 is all about the Batman line dance.

Episode 231: Prince Parked his Purple Prowler in the Parking Lot

It’s the show your Scope hosts hate to do: a retrospective to a fallen icon.

But that’s just what Jared, Adam, and Shane had to do for episode 231.

This week, the guys took a look back at the career and life of Prince. They talked about his music, his legacy, and his impact on the state of Minnesota. The gents also shared some personal stories related to the Purple One. And, if that wasn’t enough, they invited friend to the show John to call in and talk about his face-to-face meetings with Prince.

It’s a melancholy hour or so. But it’s a fitting tribute to a superstar mega-talent who was especially loved by the local Scope guys.

The Scope episode 231 always pays with a hundred dollar bill – crisp.

Well, take a few minutes and listen to your Scope hosts gab on about it. It’s 91.4% possible you won’t be disappointed!

The Scope Captain America: Civil War review is Team Cap.

Episode 230: The Scope’s 10-year Anniversary: Hit the Post

Hey, everybody! It’s the big one!

In honor of the recent ten year anniversary of the very first episode of The Scope, Jared, Adam, and Shane worked hard to bring back a beloved (and production heavy) bit, “Hit The Post.” Or, as Shane calls, it, “Jared wins everything.”

So buckle up, sit back, and enjoy Jared/Shane trying their very best to be competent radio DJs. All while Adam mercilessly critiques them in the only way he knows how: mercilessly.

It’s a great celebration of the essence of The Scope! Please listen, won’t you? (More than likely, YouTube is gonna block this all UP.)

The Scope episode 230 can do without a nipple punch.

Episode 229: Jowls for Days

After a brief hiatus, Adam, Jared, and Shane return with the 229th episode of The Scope. In this edition (which happens to be the 10th anniversary of the recording of the very first episode!) the guys talk about old times, break down the history of the new network, Freeform, and work on their Pat Robertson imitations.

And, if that wasn’t enough, your hosts try and recall the names of all the Barbershop movies. So, yeah, pretty typical Scope hi-jinks. So get to listening and watching, fans! It’s the ten year anniversary, suckas!

The Scope episode 229 loves the new Marvel TV show, Agents of Carter.

Under The Scope | Movie Review: Everybody Wants Some!!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a baseball-playing college freshman in 1980? Well, Richard Linklater’s film, Everybody Wants Some!!, aims to answer that question.

Starring mostly people from MTV, ABC Family, and the show Glee, this “spiritual sequel” to Dazed and Confused, tells the tale of jock-with a deeper side Jake (Blake Jenner) and his shenanigans with his new baseball teammates in the days leading up to the first day of class at an unnamed Texas University.

Does this teen film belt it out of the park…or does it hit into a double-play? (See what we did there…baseball terminology!) Why not let Jared and Shane, two of the best Scope hosts, answer that question for you? They’ve done all the work and are willing to share the results. The least you could do is watch (or listen!)

Play ball!

The Scope Everybody Wants Some!! review loves a robust and authentic 1980-inspired movie soundtrack.

Episode 228: Batman v Superman v The Scope

The most important super hero event of 2016 (at least to DC and WB) is here! Batman and Superman face off in a battle that holds the fate of planet Earth in their hands! (How’s that for hyperbole?) And your Scope hosts by the names of Jared and Shane are going to tell you how it all went down.

Yeah, it’s a shame Adam couldn’t be in on the fun…but he’s still lost in the woods looking for that one last hidden Easter egg.

So the question remains: will your Scope guys pile on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice like so many others or will they come at it with a more reasoned, rational viewpoint? The only way to find out: watch or listen to the latest episode of The Scope…RIGHT NOW!

The Scope episode 228 wants to see The Great Filet in 70mm, like right now.

Episode 227: The Scope Essentials: Atari 2600

Instead of a four hour tribute to Jackee Harry and her seminal TV show, “227,”  Jared, Adam, and Shane return to the world of retro video game systems with a deep dive into the Atari 2600. We’re talkin’ pixel games with pixel sounds (whatever that is!) Yeah, the quality may not be what it is now, but without this system, there’d be no GameCube.

Think about that when you feel all video game elitist.

Yeah, thought so.

So forget about any tenuous 227 connections and start remembering the classic video game system that started it all. Your Scope hosts have it covered this week!

The Scope episode 227 wants in on Adam’s laser tag league.
